How many in Gadafi's army? ... How many Libyan rebels are there? ... [to the nearest thousand] -- MORE BELOW -?
You wont find anything like a conservatice estimate really not while the war is being wage intel from both sides would be to easily comprimesed what i am aware of is that the rebels havent really got a structured force i belive they have two of gaddafis generals running the show and a few thousand ex soldiers the rest are just like a mob. has it stands without military backing from Nato it wouldnt be a fight ressitance would last a matter of weeks months maybe if the no fly zone is kept in place the odds for the rebels dramatically increase if we arm them however but that wont happen unless they form a structured fighting force with a reconised command nato troops wont go in due to the problems internationally it would cause however advisors are likley to go in with the SF teams and help out the last option realistic under international law that can be carried out is to arm them only problem with that is when all is said and done will the outcome be one dictatorship for anthor and weve just armed them all. the other option is an assanation chances are that wont happen.hope this helps
