Why did Jonathan strip when he saw David? Does your pastor discuss why he does this instead of shaking hands?

Jonathan was the son of the King and therefore the heir to take the throne when the King died. Jonathan knew that God wanted David to be the king instead. Taking off his robe and armor and giving them to David was symbolic of the fact that Jonathan knew that David was going to be the next king, not himself.
